Frequently asked questions
If your question is not here, call or text us on (352) 619-9526.
What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care is the antidote to today's broken healthcare system. For one flat monthly fee, you get unlimited office visits and direct access to your doctor through text or phone. No waiting, no billing hassles. Your membership also includes access to on-site medications, labs and imaging at wholesale prices. No insurance required.
Is Direct Primary Care insurance?
No. Direct Primary Care is not health insurance. It covers full-spectrum primary care but not hospitalization, surgery or specialty care. Our model helps prevent costly ER visits and hospital stays, but we still recommend maintaining insurance for emergencies or care outside our scope.
Do I need health insurance?
No, you don't need insurance to join Agora Health. However, we recommend maintaining some form of coverage to protect you in case of emergencies that require ER or hospital care, or for specialist visits and surgeries.
Should I cancel my health insurance if I become a member?
No. Membership-based healthcare doesn't replace insurance. Keeping health coverage protects you in emergencies or accidents. Having both the right kind of insurance and a membership with Agora Health can save you money each month while ensuring comprehensive protection.
What areas do you serve?
Agora Health's services are available to patients and businesses in Marion County, including Ocala, Belleview and Dunnellon, and Alachua County, including Gainesville, Newberry, Alachua and Micanopy.
